Shelter Staff made the following comments about Poppy…
Beauty and brains is what Poppy is made of!
She is super smart, knows sit, how to walk on a leash and almost has fetch down pat!
Poppy is energetic, fun and is friendly to everyone she meets.
Poppy is more on the little side, being under 30lbs making her a great size.
We never had the privilege to meet her parents so we don’t have a clue as what mix she is. Our guess is maybe Black Mouth/Mountain Cur, maybe a little Carolina dog thrown in – who knows! What she looks like is a Sheppard, Catahoula & Pekingese mix.
We just know she is a very outgoing good girl.
Travis, Kennel Technician, has been at HCAS for right around three years. While he bonds with just about every animal he meets, Travis has a particular fondness for all the big, goofy hounds that make their way through our doors. When not helping with the animals, you’ll most likely find him mixed up in countless forms of “nerdery.”
Elvin is the shelter’s most seasoned volunteer. For over a decade, he has visited the shelter 2-3 times a week to walk dogs and spend time with them in the play yard. Even with all the change and chaos of the new building, Elvin has rolled with the punches and stuck with us through it all because his love and compassion for animals is unwavering! We are forever grateful for Elvin and his dedication, which inspires us daily. Elvin is a huge asset to our shelter, and we are so grateful that he continues to amaze us every day with his kindness, compassion, and love for all animals.
