Plott Hounds are known for being fantastic dogs and make fabulous family members! They are fun, active, alert, people loving puppers! And our Colt checks all those boxes for sure.Colt’s tail wagging abilities haven’t been hampered with the fact that his poor tail had been broken in the past and is now at a permanent 90 degree angle. He doesn’t mind how it looks, it just adds character.Colt loves attention and is easy to control on leash. Colt would love a warm porch to sit on and pass the time away while being a good devoted dog his family will be proud of.Fun Factoid about the Plott Hound: In the early 1800s, George Plott’s son Henry settled in Haywood County in western North Carolina. The valley in which he settled, the creek beside the home he built, and the rugged mountains that provided a picturesque backdrop – all three would eventually take on the Plott name. In that game-rich locale, he began to standardize what was to become the only breed developed in North Carolina and, eventually, its official state dog. |
