Shelter Staff made the following comments about Monica… |
Monica is an enthusiastic about life kinda gal who is super smart and loves her people and learning. She has a goofy fun-loving attitude and enjoys interacting with her person whether it be taking a walk, playing fetch, zooming around the play yard, or getting sweet snuggling – not necessarily in that order. Monica is affectionate, friendly, and outgoing. She is also highly food-motivated so training is a breeze, and she loves to show off her skills – so far she can sit, come, shake and fetch! Please do yourself (and Monica) a favor, come meet this clever, intelligent, affectionate, confident, trainable good girl today!During our Field Trip to the Court House, HCAS Learned that this little lady is a great Car Rider! |

About Monica’s photo-shoot buddies…
Monica Leslie, District Court Judge – I have been a District Court judge for 19 years. I am the proud mom to three amazing children, one dog, three cats and a snake. I love animals, and currently serve on the board for the Friends of the Haywood County Animal Shelter, as well as Hope for Horses. In my free time I enjoy traveling and fostering kittens for HCAS.
Kristen Laesser, Community Outreach Coordinator – I’ve always loved animals, big and small, to the point where I travelled and spent some time working at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. I love learning about new animals, where they’re from, and how they interact with the nature around them, which means I am a huge conservation enthusiast. But I have to say my favorite animal ever is my Great Pyrenees, Moose. He is definitely my best buddy, even if he is taller than me! I recently started working with HCAS, and even though I’m still learning as I go, I know that I love these animals, this job, and this amazing community. I’m proud of the work we’ve done so far, and I’m excited for all that lies ahead!
