Petco Love Awards $10,000 to Haywood County Animal Services
Clyde, NC, October 9, 2024 – Haywood County Animal Services has received a $10,000 grant from Petco Love to support its lifesaving work and disaster preparedness.
Since 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in animal welfare, helping 6.9 million pets find homes through partnerships with Petco and over 4,000 organizations across North America.
“This grant is part of a $12 million investment in local organizations nationwide,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “We’re committed to a future where no pet is unnecessarily euthanized, and our Petco Love Lost database reunites lost pets with their families.”
Howard Martin, Director of Haywood County Animal Services, added, “This funding will ensure we’re prepared to care for animals during future disasters.”
Haywood County Animal Shelter has been a No-Kill facility since 2018, with a live release rate above 90%. It also provides spay/neuter and corrective surgeries to improve outcomes for adoptable pets.
