Some of you may recognize Ruby. She was Pet of the Week back in July and was adopted. She was returned by no fault of her own AND consistently goes to numerous places on Pup Play Dates, helps train new Volunteers, PetSmart Events, etc. She’s an excellent car traveler, a social butterfly, knows lots of tricks and is well-loved by the HCAS Staff and Volunteers.
Ruby is a sable German Shepherd and Anatolian Shepherd mix, she’s approximately 4 years old and has been at the Shelter longer than any other dog.
If you are looking for a furry companion who will bring endless joy and love to your life, look no further than adopting Ruby.
Ruby is a high-energy dog that loves to be outdoors, so finding a home with a fenced-in yard or ample outdoor space to play would be ideal for her. As an active dog, Ruby needs plenty of exercise and stimulation to keep her happy and healthy.
Adopting a pet can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life and Ruby is definitely waiting for her Best Life. You can walk with her, hike with her, or run with her, and she will always be there to provide you with unlimited pleasure and amusement. She will be your constant companion, whether you are hiking the hills, hanging out at home, or taking a road trip to the Grand Canyon.
By providing a loving home for Ruby, you are helping to reduce the number of animals in shelters and giving her a second chance at happiness.
So, if you are ready to start creating memories with Ruby, consider making a Pet Date to meet her! You will both enrich each other’s lives in ways you can’t even imagine.

Pictured with Ruby:
Kristen Laesser, Community Outreach Coordinator – I’ve always loved animals, big and small, to the point where I traveled and spent some time working at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. I love learning about new animals, where they’re from, and how they interact with the nature around them, which means I am a huge conservation enthusiast. But I have to say my favorite animal ever is my Great Pyrenees, Moose. He is definitely my best buddy, even if he is taller than me! I love working with the amazing volunteers in the community, the animals in the shelter, and the incredible county employees that help support our shelter. I’m excited for the future!
